You may or may not have consciously noticed that my professional life has largely been kept away from this blog. That, I suppose, will continue. However, there is this little update that I feel should go into this blog.

I have joined Google India as an Associate Product Manager. The role I had taken up at the start-up was not working out because it turned out that the technology was not yet at a stage where a product manager could contribute much. So, for the benefit of myself as well as the company, decided to leave.

For a while, felt like I was back in the usual jungle 🙂 But then Google happened. (No – not overnight – rather after a very, very lengthy and rigorous process!!)

Am looking forward to an exciting professional life in the days to come. However, this was for information only. As I said, the blog will continue to keep its distance from my professional life. And of course, nothing I say here has any endorsement, approval etc. of my employer.

Whether that is likely to have an impact on the blogging frequency? Well yeah – looks like. But still we’ll see. This blog has survived several things. Hopefully it’ll survive this too.

  1. Welcome to the Google family! Just be “googlee” and “Dont do evil”!!! 🙂 And the process is always lengthy and rigorous to be a googler( Or Noogler in your case!)

  2. Congrats and all the best…I’ve had the thought earlier that you will do excellently at Google, considering your posts on Google-related subjects, open source programs etc.

  3. Hi Jaya,

congratulations on joining Google! As far back as I can remember, long time back you wrote on your blog something like “Google is the only thing I have come closest to worshiping” . Enjoy the temple job then 😀
