A Project Completed

Finally, I have converted all my Hindi Poems to Unicode. They are all on this blog – मेरी कविताएँ.

Now, I can concentrate better on other ones like Ghazal Lyrics and Hindi Poetry Collection.

  1. i just want to know that how u converted all the poems in unicode.
did you just typed the entire text or some other short-cut.
if you typed all the text then which s/w did u use.

  2. I was thinking what could be a short cut. These are the ones I could guess.
    1. Used a speech recognition software and recited the poems to it.
    2. Wrote a program to convert non-Unicode to Unicode characters. Don’t ask me how one could have written the input Hindi poems in non-Unicode characters in first place. Some people I know can actually talk “non-unicode binary” while they mean “unicode binary”.
    3. Found the poems somewhere on the web, copied to personal website and claimed the ownership.
    4. Hired a Data Entry staff to type the poems.
    5. Wrote the poems in English originally. Used a translator program to convert them into Hindi and generate the Unicode poems.

Many more shortcuts are coming to my mind. But, I am not sure what do you want to cut short. Time, budget, effort (person hours), complexity?

  3. Its really a nice job doneby you for hindi poem lovers like me.Can you please add Rashmirathi if possible. Some more collections of Dinkar.
