The story of my homepage

My homepage was a “creative retalliation”, I would like to say. The adjective “creative” was given by someone else, if I recall correctly, when I told him of the story behind it. After withdrawing my nomination from Megabucks and resigning from Business Club in the final year at IITK, I was left in a strange situation. The affair was the one of the biggest dilemma I had faced till date regarding principles. On that front I was pretty satisfied with my decision to withdraw, but there was another problem. After three over-active years of Extra-curriculars, I suddenly found my life empty. There wasn’t much else I was interested in any more. Further I had been so engrossed in thinking about Business Club and Megabucks for quite some time by then, that it was impossible for me to get involved in any other public activity after it anyway.

There was another strong feeling. I did not want to do anything which should depend for its fulfillment on others. “It will be my world” – I decided (Ah! “The egoistic you, Jaya” – do I hear somebody say?). And thus was born the website. I do not remember the exact date when it was first uploaded on the server of our department. And since then it has grown. Blog came in at a later date. 5 MB was not sufficient for uploading Photographs and Poetry. Went to God Google – it gave me topcities. When the day of graduating from IITK came nearer, obvious need was felt for a new location, but I deferred the decision till it was decided as to where shall I go next. Topcities was not a good option because website used frames and topcities puts the banner ads in all the frames – completely destroying the look. I am not fond of pop-up ads. After coming to IIML, transferred it to the space proided by IIML, but it created problems a bit too often. Went back to God Google and this time it gave me angeltowns! So, there you are now.

  1. Since I am removing the Haloscan Comments, I am copy-pasting the comments I got on this post here.

    You tell,
Sitting in ruins makes one feel small.
Believing in astrology makes one feel small.
Sitting on the net also does the same.

    I tell,
Each day on net make one richer …..but still the person is quiet poor. …Like me.
